Architects Edmund R. Purves, Thomas Pym Cope, and Harry Gordon Stewart established their office in 1937, and this enterprise endured until World War II, when Purves moved to Washington, DC, to work as an American Institute of Architects representative before volunteering for active duty and serving with the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific Theatre. Purves, Cope & Stewart appear to have specialized in residential architecture.
