John T. Carlin appears in the Philadelphia city directories as an architect from 1916 to 1936 and then appears in Philadelphia Chapter AIA lists through 1955. From 1919 to 1930 at least, he shared an office with John L. Coneys. From 1923 to 1930 L. Valentine Scherr also cited the same address. However, no formal relationship has been documented among the three.
