Anthony P. Valentine, Jr., was born in Philadelphia and apprenticed with G. W. & W. D. Hewitt from 1890 to 1894, with A. C. Munoz in 1894, and with Wilson Brothers & Company from 1896 to 1898. In 1905 he is noted as a structural engineer, and this is collaborated by his being employed as an engineer with the Philadelphia Bureau of Building Inspection from 1906/07 to 1924.

Valentine joined the T-Square Club in 1891 and resigned in 1902.
