William E. Grancell had a long career in the employ of Arthur Brockie, first working for Brockie & Hastings and then, following the demise of that firm, remaining with Arthur Brockie until the latter's death in 1946. After Brockie's death, Grancell began an association with William Heyl Thompson, Architects, where he worked with Thompson, Clyde Shuler, and Frank R. Watson.
