Born in Kreisav, Silesia, Germany. Parents: Helmuth, Count von Moltke and Dorothy born Rose-Innes.

Education: Received Diploma in Architectural Engineering, Technische Hochschule, Berlin, 1937; M.Arch., Harvard University, 1942.

Military Service: World War II, First Lieutenant in U.S. Army, 1943-1946.
