Born: 3/15/1868, Died: 3/24/1906 Richard L. Field was born in Philadelphia, the son of John and Sara (Hunter) Field. He enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania in 1887 as a partial student, but did not receive his degree. By 1894 he lists himself in the Philadelphia city directories as a draftsman, but with no office address included; and by 1895 he has joined Milton B. Medary, an architect a few years his junior, in the firm of Field & Medary.Field joined the T-Square Club in 1892 and served on the House Committee in 1901/02. Field suffered from tuberculosis; and after an attempt at a cure in Cave Creek, AZ, he returned home to Philadelphia, where he died.
