Born: 4/22/1883, Died: 9/17/1968 Charles F. Rabenold was born in Mertztown, PA, the son of Rosa and Milton B. Rabenold. After graduating from Reading High School in 1900, he entered the office of Muhlenberg Bros. in Reading and went from there to the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with his B.S. in Architecture in 1905. After graduation Rabenold gained experience with Horace Trumbauer, with whom he remained until 1914, when he and another member of the Trumbauer office, Frank Seeburger established Seeburger & Rabenold. In 1934 this firm dissolved, and Rabenold initiated an independent practice which continued through 1942. In 1942 he began working as a consulting architect for the engineering firm of Albright & Friel, Inc., but he returned to independent practice in 1945, continuing then until his retirement in 1967. A longtime resident of Glenside, PA, Rabenold designed the United Church of Christ, Glenside and the Glenside Trust Company Building.While at the University, Rabenold was the recipient of the Arthur Spayd Brooke gold medal of 1905. He was a member of the AIA, achieving emeritus status in 1960.
