Description: Shows the crane in the stone yard of the firm founded in 1816, which provided the marble for nearly all the prominent public buildings of the city. Marble blocks cover the yard. Also shows a dray in the foreground and surrounding buildings in the background.

Biographical/Historical Note: McClees, a prominent Philadelphia photographer and daguerreotypist, produced some of the earliest paper photographic views of Philadelphia between 1853 and 1859.
