MARC Description:
HABS survey number not yet present on these original HABS project drawings, from the creator's office. Set complete in 6 sheets. Sheet 1 is the title sheet and has: "The Newton Friends Meeting House was constructed in 1828, upon the separation of the Hicksite and Orthodox Quakers, on land donated to the New Hicksite Meeting by Joseph W. Cooper. ... In 1995, several alterations were made to the building. These changes, which have been attributed to Philadelphia architect Wilson Eyre, included extending the east side of the building fourteen feet ... The School House, originally known as the Guild House, was constructed sometime between 1838 and 1847 ..." This sheet includes a location map, street plan and site plan, taken from secondary sources. All sheets include "Drawn by John R. Bowie, A.I.A.", sheet 2 includes the name "Jon C. Graves" as delineator with Bowie and sheet 6 includes the name "Rebecca Trumbull" as delineator with Bowie.
