MARC Description:
Appears to be a print of an original charcoal/crayon rendering. Reproduced in Building the city beautiful(1989) by David Brownlee, p.168, which identifies the item as a lithograph, and the monogram "BBL", low right in the drawing, to the delineator Birch Burdette Long. Perspective rendering of entrance at corner, with automobiles & figures on the street. No identification of the architects is given, known to be Zantzinger, Borie & Medary. The inscription above the main entrance is visible, reading "The Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Company. In the nobler life of the household is the nobler life of mankind. In the honour and perpetuity of the family is founded the State.
