Institution

The Old York Road Historical Society was founded to study and preserve the history and folklore of the communities along and adjacent to Old York Road from Philadelphia to New Hope. It presents lectures, publishes scholarly papers in the form of a bulletin, and has accumulated an archive of historical material.

Collections

The Society's collections are particularly strong in covering the history of communities in Eastern Montgomery County, and as such, the Society serves as the major historical repository for the townships of Abington, Cheltenham, Lower Moreland and Upper Moreland and the boroughs of Bryn Athyn, Hatboro, Jenkintown and Rockledge.
