- On September 17, 1890, the Manual Training School established a second school due to growing demands. This new school, entitled the Northeast Manual Training School, moved into an existing school building on Howard Street below Girard Avenue. The building was once occupied by the William A. Lee School, formerly known as the Sixteenth Section School, (Custis, p. 323).
